Have you ever been that lucky to come up with something that will change your whole life for good? If you didn’t, then you would have wished something to come and discover you. To be discovered… Janet Echelman was waiting to be discovered as a painter for years till she had lost her works for the exhibiton in India. Then she came up with something during her walk on the beach: fishnets.
We are all chasing beauty. Isn’t it our goal? Echelman shapes this beauty with her public sculptures made from fishnet.
Afterwards, it was not the same for Janet. Now, she is doing internationally well known city sculptures with the fishnet she discovered 14 years ago. Actually she works with a group of specialists on engineering, visual media and design.
These works combine hand crafts with new media and technology. The sculptures can be both an extension of a well-known building or just a pattern flowing with the wind.
Her work named “Every Beating Second” in San Francisco, is inspired by the poet of Allen Ginsberg.
“live
in the physical world
moment to moment
I must put down
every recurring thought—
stop every beating second “

We always find ourselves waiting something to happen to be happy. If this works, if I buy this, if I move there… Time pasts so fast to not to wait fort hat kind of things. And you sould enjoy your time of life. The Holstee Manifesto is a call to action to live a life full of intention, creativity, passion, and community.
The LifeCycle Film came about as a desire to bring the energy and passion behind the Manifesto to life through something we love–biking. As we seek to live mindful lifestyles that leave a positive impact on the people and world around us, biking has become a passion that is much more than a transportation alternative. It is a way of fully experiencing the city we love and all of its details.
This Film is a celebration. It is a celebration of gatherings, of diversity, of life, and of the beauty of shared experience..
Enjoy it!
